The day has come for our final push against SB1. At 9am on 3/19 the House committee will vote, and if/when it gets voted out of the committee, the full House will vote at 2pm.
We will not go down without a fight, continuing our efforts thus far - as AAUP, as students, as faculty as a community - that have been nothing short of heroic.
On March 19, there will be two actions -- connected and coordinated but organized separately.
On Wednesday WEAR RED. This has become part of the tradition connecting higher education workers with K to 12 workers. #redfored
We will not go down without a fight, continuing our efforts thus far - as AAUP, as students, as faculty as a community - that have been nothing short of heroic.
On March 19, there will be two actions -- connected and coordinated but organized separately.
- The statewide Ohio Student Association and its partners are calling for a student walkout at noon, followed by a march from Ohio State to the Ohio Statehouse starting at 1pm. They will arrive there around 2:30. Students from across the state will participate, wearing their school colors. Their main demand will be for DeWine to veto.
- This is not a faculty walkout. If students are walking out of your class, they will quietly leave at noon. If you help students who walkout in protest, that is of course your prerogative, based on your class policies.

- OCAAUP will hold space at the Statehouse starting at 1:30 pm at the Colonizer McKinley statue, facing High Street. Faculty from across Ohio will gather there. Faculty are welcome to go into the Statehouse when the House session begins at 2pm, or stay outside until the student marchers come and join us.
