What We Do

The American Association of University Professors chapter at Ohio State (AAUP-Ohio State) is the advocacy chapter for Ohio State faculty across all ranks. We strive to ensure just working conditions and promote values of institutional transparency, academic freedom, and shared governance. Our organization is also active in reclaiming higher education as an affordable and equitable public good. We welcome alliances with staff and students working toward similar goals.
 
Affiliated with the national AAUP and the Ohio Conference AAUP, or OCAAUP (the statewide association of chapters), our chapter responds in depth to conditions local to Ohio State. We are not a formal union, but we firmly believe in the power of collective action, coalition-building, and shared information. Our actions and events strengthen individuals and groups through mutual support.
